Abba's Pride is a non-profit based in Pretoria, South Africa, that trains teachers and provides classroom resources to preschools in rural communities. In this role, I oversaw the teacher training program and oversaw Abba's Pride's summer internship program for undergraduate students.

Served as Head of English Department from 2016-2017. Developed and implemented curriculum for Writing and Grammar courses for 25 students in grades 2-8.Created individualized instruction plans and worked with 10 students on a one-on-one basis in Reading resulting in students improving two or more grade levels. Served as lead classroom teacher for 25 students in grades 2-8 in Writing, Social Studies, and US History.

Managed/supervised academic tutors in all aspects related to scheduling, curriculum development, and implementation. Worked extensively with Google calendar, emailed parents and students to coordinate schedules and tutoring sessions, and paired tutors with students. Supervised Trearne program which provided tutoring to low income students and children in foster care. Acted as liaison between the Department of Social Services and students to match students with tutors. Served as lead tutor for foster students. Developed and supervised Academic Coaching Program to help students develop organizational skills and executive functioning. Assisted students with developing personal calendars/schedules and creating plans to complete all assignments.
