Human-centric perspective in HCI: academic linguistic research and Voice User Interface Design.I am currently completing my PhD research project titled 'Information Structure in Amazon Alexa-directed Speech' at the Graduate School of 'Empirical and Applied Linguistics' at the University of Münster. My scientific advisors are Professor Christine Dimroth and Dr. Netaya Lotze. The main aim of my project is to study how users' voice-based interaction evolves throughout the course of partially scripted multi-turn interactions. The linguistic parameters of interest include referring expressions, the syntactic structure of questions, and pitch marking of given and new information.In parallel to pursuing a PhD, I am conducting seminars in German Linguistics for Bachelor's and Master’s students. The topics range from Pragmatics and Syntax to Language Processing and Discourse Analysis. One of the seminars was nominated for a 'Lehrpreis,' and the seminars are consistently positively evaluated by the students.In 2022, I began my career as a Voice User Interface Architect and became part of a highly talented team of designers at VUI.agency. My research interests in user-centric HCI align with the agency's approach, where users' needs and expectations serve as the starting point for design. I am continuing to deepen my knowledge in the UX research and design, as well as gaining a technical perspective on generative AI.Currently on maternity leave, with my second son, I am solely focusing on personal research projects and my PhD.
