Executive Director
CurrentAs Executive Director of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization, Anna Tyszkiewicz Gremling leads the organization that oversees transportation planning for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Area. In this role, she is responsible for an annual distribution of $47 million for transportation projects in an area that encompasses 1,520 square miles and includes eight counties and 27 cities and towns. She oversees a staff of 13 professional planners. A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., Anna brings to her role experience from both the public and private sectors. Before taking on her current role, she was a senior transportation manager for the Indianapolis MPO, responsible for issuing RFPs and conducting consultant selection on major projects. She had moved to that position from the “other side of the table,” where she worked in marketing and sales for The Schneider Corporation, where she was responsible for responding to RFPs and issuing proposals for seven offices in four states. Previously Anna was a Transportation Planner for the Grand Valley Metro Council (the MPO for the Greater Grand Rapids area), where she gained extensive experience in engaging the public in the transportation process, helped to develop long-range transportation plans and facilitated the integration of Geographic Information Systems data into the planning process. Personally and professionally, much of her time is spent engaged in transportation planning initiatives to enhance mobility in Central Indiana, including the Indy Connect public education process. Anna earned both her B.A. and Master’s degrees in Public Administration at Grand Valley State University, where she serves on the Alumni Board of Directors. She’s also a member of the Mayor’s Bike Advisory Committee and the advisory board of the National Institute for Fitness and Sport. Anna moved to Indianapolis in 2005, joined the Indianapolis MPO in 2008 and was named Executive Director in 2012
