My role at CPX is to produce resources based on CPX content that are engaging and relevant for high-schoolers, to be used in classrooms and other youth/schools contexts. I also give talks to high school students and teachers. In addition, I manage CPX's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn), create our fortnightly eNewsletter, update content on our website, and write for our regular 'Thinking Out Loud' columns.

This role involved setting up and running the Bible Society's new internship program for young people aged 18-26.

For a year I lived in Arequipa, Peru, working with the international Christian mission organisation SIM. My tasks included:- Running a tri-weekly English conversation club ‘Arequipa English’, for intermediate and advanced English speakers. This included preparing lessons, organising events, managing the group’s Facebook page, managing the database of students, managing finances, and helping individual students- Working with the Christian society Comunidad Bíblica Universitaria (part of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students) on two university campuses, by leading bible studies, running seminars, helping to organise events, and mentoring students- Working as a professor for a children’s homework club for primary school aged children on the outskirts of Arequipa

In 2014-2015 I completed a two-year Ministry Apprenticeship at St Thomas' Anglican Church, North Sydney. I was involved in a number of ministries, including Youth Group leading, Scripture teaching at the local primary school, bible study leading for our evening congregation and for an evangelical student group at ACU North Sydney, helping out with the Christian group at North Sydney Girls' High School, and mentoring younger women one-to-one. I also completed the Cornhill Sydney course. As part of my role, I gave a number of talks at youth, womens' and children's events. I also created some media projects, including the website for our youth group (lights.st-thomas.org.au) and an MTS promotional video.

During the second half of 2013 I was in charge of marketing and communications at Selective Tours, a boutique tour company that organises tailor-made private, small group and school trips to China, Vietnam, India and Nepal. Tasks included preparing eNewsletters, updating brochures and website information, managing social media channels, writing media releases, liaising with media outlets about editorial and advertising content, and building relationships with retail travel agents. I also attended the China International Travel Mart in Kunming as a guest of the China National Tourism Office.

The GI Cancer Institute is a not-for-profit organisation that raises funds for clinical trials into gastrointestinal cancer. Working on a contract basis for several projects, my tasks included:- Sourcing, writing and uploading news stories and information for the Institute’s website, and creating new sections of this website using WordPress - Writing and uploading blog posts, and developing a social media strategy for ‘The Gutsy Challenge’, the Institute’s major fundraising program for primary and secondary schools- Writing a variety of media releases and sending these to relevant media outlets- Writing, designing, and sending newsletters and marketing material to donors, schools and the oncology community using the Constant Contact and MailChimp programs- Creating flyers in Adobe InDesign, and editing images in Adobe Photoshop

I worked part-time for two months on the documentary series ‘Forbidden’, which aired worldwide on the Discovery Network. My tasks included: fact and statistic finding through online articles, academic journals, books, government databases, and telephone conversations with experts; creating fact packs for writers; sourcing archive images and footage from stock photo/footage websites, professional media makers, and amateurs; and obtaining copyright clearance for archive material.

As part of the University of Sydney Media and Communications International Fellowship program, I was given a grant by the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR) (a branch of DFAT) to work as a journalist for the English-language news site and magazine I Love Chile in the summer of 2013. During my internship I published 53 articles, covering a range of topics such as politics, business, health, arts and entertainment, science and technology, environment, and travel. I attended numerous press conferences and events, and conducted a variety of interviews in both English and Spanish. I was also responsible for taking photographs for my stories and uploading articles to the I Love Chile website using their Content Management System.
