I hold the position of Director of the Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, the largest public university in the East of Poland. As an institution University serves as culture and opinion centre and plays significant role in building knowledge based economy. Important part of the activities is research and development collaboration with Partners from Poland and abroad in the form of projects and commercial activities. I am in charge of cooperation with the business environment, technology transfer and commercialization of research results as well as creating and promoting innovative and entrepreneurial attitudes of UMCS staff and students. The Center coordinates University’s participation within the clusters with particular emphasis on those related to renewable energy, biotechnology and medicine (Biotechnological Cluster, Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster and the Energy Efficiency Consortium). I graduated from the UMCS Philosophy Faculty. Knowledge, which I gained during studies gives me a wide view of the tasks performed. I have 19 years of professional practice working with the University and private sector. At the time I coordinated several large projects. In my opinion future of commercialization unit and its success depends mainly on the understanding of environment and of all possibilities available within the cooperation framework with widely understood business. My task is to initiate and coordinate research and development cooperation with domestic and foreign entities, clusters and business.
