In this role, I led efforts to connect Swedish industry and academia with world-leading research facilities like CERN, ITER, ESS, Max IV and SKA.I led the pre-study and subsequent establishment of Big Science Sweden, managing a multidisciplinary team of high-level experts from leading Swedish institutes and universities. As director I reported to a Steering Committee comprising the universities Chalmers University of Technology, Lund University, Luleå University of Technology, Uppsala University as well as the institute RISE and the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries (Teknikföretagen), Industrikluster IUC Syd and Region Skåne. I also led these organizations through the pre-study and funding process, ensuring a robust foundation for the initiative.Our mission was to drive innovation and create significant business opportunities for Swedish companies by connecting them with facilities conducting cutting-edge research in materials science, life sciences, and energy. These advancements are crucial for achieving global sustainability goals.Furthermore, the facilities processes large amount of data and we successfully achieved a number of projects within AI and Big Data.
