Wrote freelance features, about swimming, the environment and social justice, and the manuscript for a novel. Chance and the Seventh Son, a middle-grade mystery, was shortlisted in the Times/Chicken House Children's' Fiction Prize 2024.

I taught languages and global citizenship in local primary schools and pre-schools, as well as giving some tuition. This was rewarding because I had the freedom to focus on the students learning through having fun and being creative. I also enjoyed the challenge of setting up my own business and creating learning resources for the different ages and interests of the students.

Saved our local lido from closure, by rallying a fantastic group of volunteers from the community to set up a charity and run the pool ourselves. I orginally took on the role of Chair and coordinated the day-to-day running of the pool, as well as our longer term strategy. This included me writing a successful fundraising bid to Sport England for £75,000 to make the pool more sustainable. I stepped down as a trustee in April 2023, by which point we had grown to employ a pool manager.

I taught French, German, PSHE and citizenship to secondary students. I left to work part-time.

I wrote a handbook on bail and ran workshops to empower immigration detainees to access bail hearings when they had no one to represent them.
