Regulatory Compliance and Legal Compliance: Overhauled the company’s compliance function, instituting clear policies, automated reminders, and contract management system strengthening overall legal compliance with contract terms and applicable laws.Contract Drafting: Drafted and negotiated various contracts and agreements, including prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and MOUs.Strategic Partnerships, Stakeholder Engagement, Legal Assistance, Accounting, and Human Resources (HR): Partnered with executive teams to provide legal support to over 100 employees in the management of legal and contracting operations. Legal Issues and Legal Matters: Assisted in-house Legal Department on all legal matters related to ocean and marine wildlife issues.Campaign Management, Hearings, and Coalitions: Led the NEPA Defense Campaign and acted as Oceana representative on a coalition of 27 nonprofits. Served as sole law student among a group of seasoned attorneys, attending congressional hearings, meeting with the House and Senate, and securing White House clearance to provide Oceana’s viewpoint on newly proposed regulations. Litigation and Proactive Monitoring: Oversaw 4 pending litigation matters, corresponded with and assisted outside counsel, and monitored court decisions—as well as statutory and regulatory changes—that could impact Oceana’s litigation. White Papers and Endangered Species Act: Drafted a white paper on the Endangered Species Act, examining the impact of seismic surveys on sea turtles.

Legal Research, Memos, Natural Resources, and Marine Conservation: Conducted legal research and drafted corresponding memos, examining issues related to marine conservation, the environment, and natural resource law. Advising Clients: Summarized discussions from the North Pacific Fishery Management Council meeting and advised client on potential legal ramifications to proposed action based on new Supreme Court decision.

Online Content Creation and Renewable Energy: Created content for articles and podcast on the utilization of biodigesters in waste and energy production.
