This position was created to add a new senior role to the team, with the purpose of oversight and management of day to day duties. After a short time I also took on the formal line management of 4 Supporter Care Coordinators and began to have more involvement in strategic team planning. I took a 4 month sabbatical at the end of this role to volunteer with VSO on one of our ICS Livelihoods projects in Ghana.

Assist Supporter Care Team Leader to reduce risk to VSOs finances. Work with finance to ensure all financial items are processed and recorded accurately in time for closing the monthly accounts.Record accurate details on VSO’s volunteering + fundraising databases. Work with the Data and Insight team to maintain accurate data and information within the Fundraising database – Raisers Edge. Train colleagues within the Supporter Care team and voluntary workers in all relevant business and database systems. Meet SLAs and constantly look to improve the quality of the work produced by the Supporter Care team around all aspects of donor and volunteer care, to include colleagues from internal customer departments. Design and innovate systems and procedures to manage the variety and nature of work within the team. Project management – management of supporter care aspects of projects across the organisation.

This was an extremely varied role. Core financial responsibilities ensured I gained an extensive skill set on both Microsoft Excel and Sage. These include processing purchase and sales invoices, completing the weekly income return, and banking. I was also responsible for compiling our weekly visitor figures data. I completed a project to create a HR database for the organisation. In addition I also created a Staff Induction Handbook which was used to guide the induction of all future new members of staff. I worked closely with the Commercial Team in order to co-ordinate and create income generating activities within the organisation, such as events and weddings. As part of a local artists exhibition hosted by the gallery, I designed and curated a section of the exhibition which also doubled as a shop to sell pieces to the public.Other ad hoc duties as requested.
