I processed optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dose rate samples and conducted sieving, weighing, and labeling for submission to ICP/MS analysis. I documented sample weights and data, ensuring accurate labeling and organization of all samples.

I assisted professor Graham Andrews in the creation of an online database of virtual samples for the WVU geology department during the COVID-19 online course transition. I used Excel spreadsheets to list the details and URLs of 3D rock and mineral samples on SketchFab.com. The goal was to make a spreadsheet available to Geology professors teaching online in the Fall, where they can quickly search for samples that meet their needs.

In this role, I captured microphotographs of rheomorphic ignimbrite clasts under a microscope and used Inkscape software to meticulously delineate the stratigraphy of rock samples. I analyzed the rotation of large grains through microscopic analysis. After tracing these lines, processing the digital data and retrieving measurements on the angle of rotation between these lineation marks were essential tasks. My experience also encompassed acquiring and applying skills associated with a laboratory environment.
