Profile bio

About Anna Hinde

I'm an excellent news writer, eagle-eyed proofreader, event planner, social media marketeer and all-round comms expert with 17 years experience in public sector communications. I like to talk but I know it’s important to listen and those skills helped me gain column inches on local newspapers as a budding reporter straight out of college.I’m also meticulous when it comes to the correct use of the English language – I’m a fully signed up member of the grammar police and I feel satisfied when I have polished and proofread, edited and re-written, an average piece of copy until it shines and is a joy to read. After working at a local newspaper, then for the Kent Messenger Group, I worked for a private sector PR firm before moving to public sector communications – first for a local authority and now the NHS. These roles have provided me with some of the best experiences of my career, so far. Exciting, stressful, funny, fast-paced, political – there is never a dull moment working in the public sector. In my current role I manage an external marketing agency, use social media for targeted marketing, and commission designers and web developer services. I create campaigns that aim to change behaviour across Kent and Medway. I've previously worked on internal communications campaigns, organised an annual 300-guest staff awards event, supported colleagues to deliver successful conferences and seminars, advised on design and branding solutions, written magazine stories, assisted with producing short films to showcase good work, and updated and editing the intranet on a daily basis.Outside the office, my creativity continues on the sewing machine, while I put my organising skills to the test as a volunteer at my son's school PTA. I love eating out and travelling too, and spending time with my family.

Listed skills include Newsletters, Proofreading, Internal Communications, Copywriting, and 34 others.
