    Within the operational underwriting department of a successful motor insurance company, I now specialise in working with the electronic data input system and look to identify and resolve any errors within this system. Alongside this I am required to analyse insurance policy data to ensure the customer profile fits within certain scheme parameters and once identified, I review any that do not meet the criteria. As part of this role I am required to make important underwriting decisions, a task which requires knowledge, expertise and the ability to take ownership of my own decisions. I am also expected to maintain a good rapport with the product heads and keep them informed with any issues within their products this can include; compiling Excel reports to refer on to them and setting up face to face team meetings to address any issues. As the most experienced team member, I also coordinate the team and allocate out any daily tasks, an aspect of the role I enjoy and which has reinforced my strong leadership skills. Alongside this I regularly review the team’s processes and update the process guides to ensure optimum process efficiency is maintained. As part of my technical role I am also required to liaise with the Motor Insurers Bureau and the traffic police in order to attend to any urgent enquiries, a role that requires a high level of professionalism.
