Responsible for all sales, development, and marketing of upholstery ranges to UK retailers. Winners of the Furniture Industry Upholstery Design Award, which was a first for a company at the middle end of the market, first for a new company, and first for a Scottish upholstery company. The judges described the Daytona as “a great design for the commercial mass-market, its exactly in tune with the sector, a brilliant execution of the contemporary trend”.Following successful exhibition at which the company won prestigious industry award, order book went from nil to £2m within a matter of weeks, however the legacy of financial pressures were too difficult to overcome

Joined as Area Sales Manager for Scotland, responsible for the sales to independent stores and groups in Scotland. Over the coming years increased territory to cover North England, and in the absence of a Sales Director assisted in looking after Key House Accounts until promotion to National Sales Manager in 1996. Responsibilities included overseeing the Sales and Service Office using accounting and system procedures, dealing with all the Groups and large independent retailers, dealing with debit notes and rebate schemes for the large groups, inspections of returns, selling on of “seconds” I also provided back up for our Agents, and organised Exhibitions, and show-vans. Working with the Designer I had input into product, and cover selection. During my time at Prestige I had the chance to run the manufacturing side of the business when the Scottish factory Managing Director was absent for an extender period of time. This gave me a unique opportunity to experience the whole manufacturing process from material ordering, production to delivery scheduling.
