    In the lab of Prof. Roland Baron, we investigate the AP-1 dependent central pathways regulating energy metabolism and bone formation. Utilizing viral mediated gene transfer and transgenic mice models we modulate AP-1 factors, such as FosB splice variants, in specific areas of the brain with a goal of identifying the key neuronal circuits involved in the control of energy expenditure, bone formation, or both processes. We focus on studying the physiological parameters – energy expenditure, insulin sensitivity, bone architecture, and cellular/molecular mechanisms underlying these effects
