Extensive experience in classical and advanced methodologies of Proteomics with particular regard to the analytical methodologies most commonly used for protein characterization anddefinition of post translational modifications and protein quantification.Important experience gained in the field of advanced mass spectrometry methodologies.The research activities are centred on development of new methodology for protein identification and quantification by using Mass Spectrometry advanced techniques. These studies are performed integrating classic procedures of protein chemistry, enzymatic and chemical hydrolysis, mono and two dimensional electrophoresis and electro/immunoblot analysis, HPLC separation of proteins /peptides, and oligosaccharide analysis with advanced mass spectrometry procedures.Extensive experience in identification and quantification of small organic molecules by using GC/MS in different matrices ( water, soil, waste, agri food products, biologi cal fluidsAnalytical methods:Mass spectrometry coupled with gas chromatography:-GC MS (Qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic molecules in different matrices).- ICP MS (Qualitative and quantitative analysis of metals also in traces)Matrix a ssisted ionization mass spectrometry methods:- MALDI TOF- MALDI TOF / TOFElectrospray mass spectrometry:-ESI MS;Mass spectrometry coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (capillaries and nano):- LC MS-LC MS / MS (nano LC chip Q / TOF , LC Orbitrap, LC Qtrap)Biochemical techniques:- Electrophoretic techniques (mono and bidimensional);-Analysis of peptide mixtures after "in situ" hydrolysis from mono and bidimensional gel spots;-Western Blot.Chromatographic techniques:-HPLC-molecular exclusion chromatography;-ion exchange chromatography;-affinity chromatography;-reverse phase chromatography.
