Being a small construction company, this role has mixed responsibilities, but my primary duties are:Sourcing: I evaluate suppliers to ensure that we’re getting the lowest possible prices while still maintaining the quality we need in our building materials and tools. Also handle MRO and negotiations with contractors.Property management: I handle the marketing, furnishing, and the bulk of communications with tenants who rent the finished units. I also coordinate maintenance as neededSystemization: Prior to my taking on this work, there was very little digitalization in place. It’s not quite at a point where I’d like it to be yet, but so far, I’ve successfully implemented the use of a CRM and some elements of an ERP into the operations. The company is on-track to be fully integrated with the ERP platform before the end of the year.Some accounting: I utilized accounting software to sort and analyze financial records. Implemented some basic practices to keep things up-to-date moving forward, and am adding more best practices bit by bit as I confirm that the previous ones I introduced have been implemented successfully.

This was a remote role at an SAAS company that specialized in hiring support tools. During my time here, I:Managed client accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention (received a few testimonials and referrals from these clients as well). Provided client onboarding, training them not only on how to use the software and tools, but also best practices for hiring talented people and retaining them.Implemented a new client support ticketing system to ensure client issues were being tracked and resolved (client support practices were a bit of a mess prior to this)Handled some of the sales, providing presentations and negotiating contract terms.Worked with our billing department to handle billing and collections.Learned how to use Hubspot (had not used Hubspot in previous jobs) and then noticed that sales data was not being recorded consistently. Cleaned up the data, fixed the pipelines, and created automations to ensure that necessary information would be recorded either automatically, or that users would receive reminders to enter in missing information when needed. Became known to my colleagues as the “Hubspot Expert” after this. Also managed to negotiate one of their quotes down by over 50%.

Helped clients cut turnover and worker's compensation claim occurrences by an average of 60% by training them on best practices in hiring and employee management.

This was a manufacturing plant that created the paper used in packaging and cardboard. In this role, I:Worked closely with our purchasing department to keep our vendors happy. If you were a vendor, I was usually the person you would call if you had questions or concerns. Often found myself smoothing tensions between the mill managers and vendors and overall learned a lot about de-escalations, conflict resolutions, and negotiations in this roleUtilized our ERP system (SAP) to monitor POs, invoices and packing slips for discrepancies. Finding one would usually result in a call to the purchasing department and vendor, and then usually a credit issued by the vendor. Processed invoices for payment and completed general accounting journal entries and month-end closing of accounts. During my time in this role I had created some spreadsheets that helped cut data entry time for myself and my coworkers by 50%

This was a very classic accounts receivable role in the city’s transit company (buses and shuttles). I handled the billing, collections, month-end entries, and reporting, and also some of the inventory counting and mailing. I did manage to reduce some of the mailing costs by changing the type of envelope and the way we were packing the inventory though.

This was my first job and was at a convenience store that also had a gas station, taxi, service, and carwash. It seems that trustworthy hires was a little rare for them, since they soon had me helping with everything they didn’t usually let others do. Filed away information from prior years in boxes so that they would still be accessible, but no longer in the way.
