Under the program, I executed a county-wide architectural assessment of over twenty non-profit housing facilities. Each participating agency received comprehensive infrastructure assessment with photos and recommendations on how to improve the safety and health of building residents, utility efficiency, and environmental/climate impact. Agencies who participated in the assessment were then invited to apply for CDBG funding for infrastructure improvements where I provided technical assistance on funding applications. Employed a mixed-methodology and participatory approach to research implementation. Reported on the advantages, disadvantages, benefits and barriers of land management techniques employed in post-colonial, sub-Saharan African communities.
