About Anna Jackson

My interests lie in how to understand the causal effects that natural resource management, policy, climate change, governance, and health have on developing, transitional, and marginalized communities. I am deeply passionate about human rights and social justice through the lens of the natural environment. Through my professional experience, I hope to continue my understanding of how holistic development frameworks and collaborative efforts can be used to strengthen resilience for communities in poverty.

The initiative was supported by Pima County and the City of Tucson with funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program. Under the program, I executed a county-wide architectural assessment of over twenty non-profit housing facilities. Each participating agency received comprehensive infrastructure assessment with photos and recommendations on how to improve the safety and health of building residents, utility efficiency, and environmental/climate impact. Agencies who participated in the assessment were then invited to apply for CDBG funding for infrastructure improvements where I provided technical assistance on funding applications. In this role, I was responsible for all grant compliance including budgeting, reporting, and overseeing contractual agreements. Show less
