During this period, I have operated as a part time Freelance Finance Manager providing services to a number of clients including Laurence Jay Ltd, Get Out Direct Ltd, and Colin Wild Ltd. These roles focused on all aspects of financial accounting, management and reporting. - Delivered a broad range of finance management and development activities including cash flow management, debt recovery; web site development and system implementation. - Deployed new software; streamlined reconciliation of several major accounts; rationalised Chart of Accounts to correctly reflect business; and implemented bank reconciliations / cash flow reporting.- Successfully deployed SAGE Line 50 Accounts package and designed procedures to remove duplicated activities whilst improving stock management.

I was initially engaged as a self-employed Associate for Howard Schultz. Responsible for undertaking identification / recovery of excessive and incorrect payments on behalf of client companies. Subsequently established an independent Partnership (Jay Jones Ltd) which was acquired by Audit Partnership Ltd in 2004.- Established UK’s first specialist Property Profit Recovery Audit firm; developed Employment / Health and Safety policies; successfully recruited, trained & retained staff.- Successfully recovered over £6m of lost revenue for clients. Developed expense Profit Recovery Audits for the Health service.- Developed a system of Management Analysis for reporting to Board level.

Cegelec Industrial Controls Ltd was part of the GEC/Alsthom Group of companies; an electrical engineering company operating world-wide with turnover of approximately £55m. I was initially hired as Cost Accountant and subsequently promoted to Finance and Administration Director responsible for all site activities with the exception of sales and manufacturing.- Played a major role in the successful re-engineering of the company into key functions. - Led selection / implementation of fully-integrated site-wide ERP system - Instigated and led project that gained “Investor In People” accreditation. Prepared / presented monthly / annual reports to employees, managers and Board members.
