• Designed and managed consultation processes for roading and environmental infrastructure projects (Leith-Lindsay Flood protection, Otago Peninsula cycleway design, Milton Prison)• Delivered training on programme evaluation and monitoring for Department of Conservation, Ministry for the Environment, and Dunedin City Council• Options for Warehouse Precinct Reuse study for Dunedin City Council• Led (principal researcher with responsibilities for undertaking, and project managing other researchers working on) a multi-year applied planning policy research focused on urban planning/growth management policy, governance, and community engagement processes (Foundation for Research, Science and Technology). Published and presented four research papers to conferences in Australia and New Zealand from this project• Led the planning and urban design team from May 2008 to March 2009 (team of six planners, landscape architects, and urban designers).

Project manager and principal researcher for an Australian Research Council and Queensland Government Department of Local Government and Planning funded action-research project focused on the collaborative planning and community engagement in the development of the SEQ (Southeast Queensland) 2021 Regional Plan. This was a partnership-based regional planning process involving a number of Queensland Government agencies and local governments and focused on a broad spectrum of social, cultural, environmental and economic planning issues.

Provided resource management and EIA support and training to a range of clients. Key projects included preparation of forestry management plans and assisting forestry companies in achieving Forest Stewardship Council Certification.
