I joined Openreach as part of a three-year Accelerated Leadership Programme. This consists of three placements, my first covering a research role within the operations part of the business. The Production Planning function is responsible for providing insight and analysis to drive performance metrics. It is also accountable for monitoring success, identifying gaps and issues with performance as well as developing robust action plans to get us back on track. My role worked directly for the Production Planning General Manager where I led a set of programmes and initiatives relating to understanding and influencing changes in engineer habits and behaviours. My initial areas of focus were nudge theory, encouraging better engineer performance through positive reinforcement, and improving the business’ scorecard metric for end user customer satisfaction.I also joint led the pilot which justified the business case for the transformational UK Operations reorganisation within Service Delivery. I was responsible for organising the pilot across all trial patches. In addition to my project management role, I had sole responsibility for the collation, analysis and reporting of data for the pilot which allowed me to generate insight in order to enable decision making at the Executive level. Following the successful pilot, I was then involved in the implementation of the roll out.

Swindon

Openwork is one of the UK’s largest financial advice networks, supporting over 2,000 Financial Advisers across more than 700 businesses. My role was to lead a newly created team in actively managing the execution and support of Openwork’s insight programme. It was my responsibility to enable the attainment of the department’s revenue growth, good consumer outcomes, objectives and KPI’s. Although this was a contractor position, I built a business case for this to become a permanent team. The Board made a decision on this based on the results of six-month pilot project that my team conducted, driving growth in the business’s top 20 Adviser firms.

Through a blend of research, marketing and proposition expertise it was my responsibility to understand technical investment products and propositions, and help clients to adapt and develop these. I also undertook an operations role within the business which broadened my skillset further.

Recently I led a project to help the organisation manage their volunteer data so that this could be leveraged within the business for both planning and securing external funding for training and operations.

My role was to deliver total client satisfaction and give strategic leadership to one of the agency’s biggest clients, the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. It was my responsibility to ensure the team delivered commercially against the Insight Led Planning goals for the company. In this role I was central in turning ‘data into wisdom’ by building a market leading understanding of what is the right data, the right processes, and ensuring that we turned data; to insight; to strategy.

North Dorset

Clayesmore Senior School is an independent school in North Dorset. I was responsible for the preparation and delivery of effective A-level Business Studies lessons. I provided an appropriate academic challenge that allowed each pupil to reach their potential and prepared them for public examinations. In addition to this I assisted with curricular and co-curricular activities and also undertook pastoral duties as a tutor, supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties. This provided me with an opportunity to foster the moral, social and cultural development of pupils.

Canary Wharf

This role was part of the Wealth & Investment Management wide research team responsible for client, market and brand research. I managed a range of research initiatives to provide insight to the business in order to inform strategic direction, ultimately for the benefit of the client.

2 Marylebone Road

I worked with the Which? Research Management team and Editors to identify areas of consumer interest or detriment and set up appropriate research programs in order to campaign for change. I worked closely with the Business Researchers and Heads of Research to create a centre of consumer and market knowledge in the personal finance sector. I was the subject matter expert for all information and insights in this sector.
