Coordinate plans between owners and tenants. Guide plans thru permitting processes. Coordinate bidding with subcontractors and bid self-performed work. Estimate project costs and schedule. Write proposals and change orders. Assist project managers and foremen thru construction.

I make city facilities more accessible to those who are disabled by coordinating with stakeholders in other city departments, design professionals and contractors to complete projects. Projects range from replacing pavement to make accessible parking compliant, to complete renovations of restrooms. I am involved from initial assessment, cost estimating for budgets, obtaining design professional services, bidding, and construction administration.

In the Office of Accessibility, I manage construction projects to make city facilities more accessible per the ADA. I inspect city facilities for compliance with ADA Title II, coordinate the services of design professionals and contractors, and inspect completed projects for compliance with the ADA.

I oversaw the Inspection Services Division, which included building, stormwater and site plan review, inspections, permitting, and code enforcement. I implemented digital permitting and digital plan review for site plan/stormwater, commercial and residential plan reviews. I served as the owner's representative for city facility building projects across several departments with varying funding sources, coordinating projects from the RFP process through Construction Administration. Projects ranged in cost from $50,000 to $11 million.

I reviewed building and site plans for compliance with local ordinances and codes, including the International Building Code family, National Electric Code and ANSI 117.1. On the storm water and floodplain development review team, I reviewed plans for compliance with local storm water and floodplain regulations. Additionally, I inspected City-owned facilities for code compliance, and assisting with cost estimates for repairs to City buildings.

Old Town Cape is an organization promoting businesses in downtown Cape Girardeau. I assisted with the annual silent auction fundraiser and served on the Design Committee. This committee worked on making downtown more attractive.

I taught DS209, Construction Codes for Designers for two semesters for the Interior Design department. We covered the 2009 International Building Code and 2009 International Residential Code. I created the curriculum, as this was a new class, to aid in several accreditations for the interior design program.

I worked on projects from schematic design phase through construction administration. My experience at GHN included Municipal, Healthcare, secondary and higher education, Religious and Commercial work, as well as Masterplans and Programming. I drafted construction documents, project manuals, and contracts, led pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and participated in construction administration activities such as monitoring on-site progress, reviewing shop drawings/submittals, applications for payment, revising plans to reflect as-built conditions, and compiling O&M manuals at the end of the project.

As chair, I compiled the monthly newsletter and coordinated educational program opportunities for local members.

Emerging Green Builders is the student and emerging professional version of the USGBC. I chaired the Missouri Heartland chapter. We hosted green building tours and a monthly social. Our goals were to connect students with experienced professionals and increase awareness of green building practices.

My responsibilities at Creative Ink included producing construction drawings. I worked on Commercial projects (such as Bass Pro Shops and an addition to a Ranger Boats facility), churches (Fellowship Bible Chapel and Woodland Heights Presbyterian), medical/dental offices and custom homes.
