🏳️‍🌈 Sport Psychologist 🏳️‍🌈I have completed my Master and PhD studies at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), majoring in Sport and Exercise Psychology, and I have a BSc in Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire (UK) and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). I am passionate about supporting athletes’ performance and well-being with applied sports psychology work. Sharing my research-based knowledge, I deliver lectures and facilitate workshops for sports organizations in topics such as tackling gender inequalities in sport, facilitating inclusive environments, safeguarding sport, and mental skills training.🏳️‍🌈 University Lecturer 🏳️‍🌈I am an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Psychology at the University of Ioannina (Greece), where I have taught modules on Qualitative Research Methods in Psychology, Social Psychology, Racism and Prejudice, and Personality Theories. In the past, I have also contributed to a Sport and Exercise Psychology undregraduate module at Aarhus University (Denmark). Moreover, I have delivered guest lectures to sport science students at Brighton University and the University of Bern on the topic of gender diversity in sport and I have been involved in the supervision of bachelor and master level dissertations at Aarhus University and the University of Thessaly. Furthermore, I have collaborated with colleagues in the development of online educational material centered around tackling discrimination and violence in sport. As a lecturer, I am dedicated to creating supportive and inclusive learning environments where students can engage in meaningful discussions and in critical thinking. 🏳️‍🌈 Researching Gender, Sexuality, Culture and Identity in Sport 🏳️‍🌈As a postdoctoral scholar, I seek to make a significant impact in the discussion around gender, sexuality, culture and identity in sport. I am interested in identifying and promoting practices which create more inclusive, ethical and safe sport cultures. I draw on qualitative and critical perspectives such as cultural praxis, feminist poststructuralist and queer theoretical theorizing, thematic and discourse analysis, and ethnography/autoethnography.
