Hello! My name is Anna Kinderman and I am a first year Physics PhD student at UC Santa Cruz, having just completed my BSc in Physics at UCLA this past Spring. My undergraduate research experience has included building and testing the NASA-funded GAPS (General AntiParticle Spectrometer) Antarctic balloon dark matter detector experiment, upgrading plasma diagnostics for the LArge Plasma Device, and analyzing data from VERITAS, the ground-based gamma-ray instrument in southern Arizona, to follow up on potential IceCube neutrino observations. My interests in experimental Particle Physics, Particle Astrophysics, and Cosmology drive my pursuit of a PhD at UCSC. After graduate school, I plan to continue collaborative experimental research to solve creative questions, expand our knowledge beyond the Standard Model, and advance our understanding of the universe's evolution.
