Transformation Operations Engineer 1

• Perform large-scale transformations (up to 3000 samples at a time) of S. cerevisiae, P. pastoris, Y. lipolytica, and E. coli.• Assist in communicating and coordinating with clients as well as developing protocols.• Manage multiple projects using communication and time management skills.• Make large batches of competent cells at a time.• Write extensive new SOPs and documentation for lab and software processes.• Revise SOPs and internal documentation.• Qualio SOP/lab documentation coordinator for the transformation team.• Member of the Foundry Operations Engagement Team, where we organize company-wide town halls.• Write communications to internal clients.• Work closely with Software, Automation, Lab Operations, and Facilities teams to advocate for team needs.• Help troubleshoot automation.• Adept at using the following equipment: HRB Workcells, Hamilton Starplus, Echo 525, K8 Colony Picker, manual and serological pipettes.• Analyze large quantities of data using Python/PANDAS/Jupyter.• Test software changes in a training environment for quality and throughput.• Develop and onboard new services and protocols to high-throughput transformations.• Improve and optimize lab processes for quality and throughput (5S).• PCR purification using AMPure bead cleanup protocol and automation.
