Anna Lee Lipman was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and grew up in Canada and New Zealand. She studied art at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and graphic design at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu Community College in Hawaii. She worked in publications as a graphic artist in Honolulu, Hawaii and later moved to Granby, Massachusetts where she taught technology in the Massachusetts schools for 16 years. During those years, she painted in watercolor and then returned to printmaking (favorite medium since college) as a member artist at Zea Mays Printmaking Studio located in Florence, Massachusetts. Since moving to Steamboat Springs Colorado in 2012, she has found more time to spend in the printmaking studio where she works in the areas of relief, intaglio and monotype printmaking..
