Information Development Manager, Cancerbackup 2004-2008 when it merged with MacmillanCancerbackup was the leading specialist cancer information charity prior to its merger with Macmillan.I led a team of nurses and editors responsible for the development and maintenance of information for people affected by cancer on and offline. Championing the role of quality-assured health information, we made valuable and lasting contribution to the ongoing debates on quality.Key achievements• One of the first organisations to pilot the DH Information Standard and Information Prescriptions.• Developed contemporary digital offering for information.• Based on researched evidence of need, developed website for teenagers with cancer with a specialist information need.• Supported the rebrand/renaming of the charity in 2005/6.
