Supporting the Trust Fundraising Manager to grow income from Trusts and Foundations; prospecting and targeting new donors as well as managing & developing existing relationships. Activities within my role included: - Managing a core portfolio of trust donors- Cultivating a steady pipeline of prospects -Developing excellent working relationships with Trusts & Foundations - through reports, mailings, phone calls and meetings - keeping funders engaged and informed about Send a Cow’s work.- Working closely with the International Programmes Team and in-country fundraisers to keep up to date with project funding gaps and project information when preparing funding proposals and reports.- Accompanying donors on an exposure visit to Send a Cow projects in Kenya- Assisting with fundraising events-Increasing the giving levels of existing partners-Raising funds significantly over my individual fundraising target.

Responsible for maintaining excellent stewardship with Send a Cow supporters, as well as ensuring that they have all information and resources required to both promote the organisation's work and to generate new donors. Activities within my role included: -Dealing with incoming telephone calls - answering enquiries about SAC's work and fulfilling any requests for materials and/or further information. - Keeping SAC's Raiser's Edge database regularly updated -Monitoring donor giving patterns and tailoring communications- Processing donations and running daily bank reconciliations. In this position I worked closely with the Partnerships and Fundraising teams, to ensure that all types of donor were efficiently and appropriately handled.I also assisted with prospect and market research, proof-read proposals, and forthcoming promotional literature, and wrote narrative reports for institutional funders.

I worked as an intern for 4 weeks in the Press Office, assisting the PR, Media and News team. My tasks included working on the latest campaign launch ‘HungerFree’; researching the most suitable media for marketing as well as compiling Microsoft Excel databases of contact details using personal research, Media Disk and ‘Google Media Monitoring’. Further work entailed arranging portfolios of press coverage from past campaigns, contacting television, radio and newspaper press and working out PR values from past coverage and estimating those for future coverage.

Assisting the Direct Marketing Manager with her latest project, ‘Family Friend’. My work involved writing supporter updates using information from programme reports by in-country project co-ordinators in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. I also proof-read and wrote letters to donors, was responsible for the writing of email newsletters and used design software such as Campaign Monitor to create updates with links to relevant articles of a similar topic. This experience was invaluable, as it taught me first-hand how aid organisations operate, developed my editing and writing skills and allowed acquisition of an overall professional sensitivity when handling cases of people in difficult situations. I received a certificate of recognition from Bath Spa University for my work at Send a Cow (‘Individual Contribution to a Community Organisation’).
