Work closely with the design, product and marketing teams to engineer product to meet target landed prices and company margins and to offer full technical support.Partake in range direction meetings using knowledge of the supplier base and product to develop the product and to work closely with product managers and design teams to build and develop new ranges – duties include store visits to review and build awareness of competitors and to understand supplier strengthsMake informed decisions on the development of products and question the design and product teams regarding relevance and the potential to take products forward Ensure the buying programmes and summaries are kept up to date and accurate.Organize and manage the full pre-production process and samples with suppliersResponsible for quality control of samples and for the timely supply of materials to meet firm-wide deadlinesDevelop the product from the initial design to the finished product which involves attending meetings across departments to ensure that all requirements are metReview regular quality control figures to ensure full understanding of supplier strengths and weaknesses and to communicate with both suppliers and end customers as necessary on any quality issues Consistently review processes to identify areas for improvement to reduce duplication and costsMaintain and improve office systems and filing to ensure that all data is readily available and up to date to ensure optimal client response and to meet trading standardsRepresent the company – alone or in a team – with suppliers on business trips to Asia
