KIT's mission is to provide learning opportunities that support recreation, child development and youth enrichment programs to include children with and without disabilities. To fulfill KIT's mission, I conduct site visits to Child and Youth Programs housed on U.S. military bases providing training on inclusive practices as well as observing classrooms to help teachers implement best practices. In addition, I am part of the team coordinating KIT's efforts in our new Washington DC office.

Chapel Hill, Nc

I provided technical assistance to child care and public school based school-age programs in a 5 county area in order to enhance and maintain quality. Guided these programs in preparation for the School Age Environmental Rating Scale (SACERS). I also presented standardized state-wide trainings.

Durham, Nc

I worked with families in Durham and Wake Counties (NC) who had children with special needs to help them find high quality out-of-school time care as well as working with the out-of-school time providers to help them learn how to support specific children with special needs. Created and conducted trainings to build capacity within the out-of-school time community so children of all abilities had the opportunity to attend the program of their choice. Also acted as Team Leader for the Durham Inclusion Support Services and Healthy Out-of-School Time projects gathering and analyzing data for project evaluation.
