My move to combine project management and real estate has evolved so easily that it seems like I was set on this path from the beginning. As a natural problem solver with a persistent helpful streak, I love the complexity and rewards of full-service transition management.In my early experience helping empty nesters buy and sell homes, I quickly realized that the job responsibilities and lifestyle goals of the “sandwich generation” can create a need for more- or full- service moves. From organizing and decluttering, making delayed repairs, and preparing a home to sell for top dollar, the list of projects can become overwhelming. I saw a clear need and set out to formalize a network of professionals who would work in concert to make the process go smoothly. It was an easy reach to leverage those same professionals, plus add more specialists with experience handling complicated moves and specialty training in working with seniors and caregivers. Now we can offer customized solutions seniors who need to downsize or move to assisted living. In 2019, I launched HomeTransitionPros.com to provide helpful resources and connect clients to trusted professionals who can help them complete downsizing projects, senior moves, and estate closeouts. My goals for 2020 include the introduction of Simply Downsized LLC, which will allow me to formally offer one-call services for home transition planning and management for folks in the DC region.It's a pleasure to work with so many true professionals who are united in their dedication to being a positive force during what can often be a stressful time, and rewarding to see my clients through a complex project.
