I grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. After college, I moved to London where I began my work as an accountant, and seven years later, in 1996, I moved to New York City. In New York, I received my MBA from Fordham, and worked for eleven years in public accounting, for both KPMG and PWC. In 2013, PWC transferred me to their Dallas office, where I worked for three years before joining Forterra and oversaw the Tax Department. In 2022, I joined US Anesthesia Partners as VP of Taxes. in 2024, I set up and became the President of the Board of USAP4USAP, a 501(c)(3) company funded by USAP employees that offers grants to USAP employees experiencing hardship. My husband, Jamie, and I have been married since 2006 and have two children, Alex (born in 2007) and Natalie (born in 2009).My job responsibilities, as VP of Tax, is to oversee the tax staff, manage the department's $2M budget, ensure that the company remains in compliance with all state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations, and advise the company's senior leadership on the tax implications of various initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions.The best parts of my job are the very interesting and enjoyable people I work with, here in the office and among our service providers; and the interesting and challenging nature of the work.What I like to do outside of work is spend time with my family, travel, and tend to our garden.I can be reached at the e-mail address avmalakoff@gmail.com.
