Hello, my name is Anna Maree also known by my online persona as Directmuses and I am a pop culture journalist and creative director!My passion for pop culture begins with getting my first magazine, flicking excitedly through the pages -- to afraid to damage magazine but wanting the posters inside to cover my walls. It continued with sharing and trading magazines between friends as we fill out quizzes during the summer. As I got older my passion never died, I found myself engaging in pop culture through online platforms like Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram by making visually appealing posts and videos. Through time I found a passion for global pop culture and wanted to be one of the people that brought people together from all over the world because of a similar interest. Thus, my love for event coordination and planning, public relations, and social media marketing came into perspective. I have completed an internship at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond and College Fashionista. I have worked for the fashion team at Virginia Commonwealth Universities (VCU) for the 50th annual VCU fashion show, Senior staff member for INK Magazine in Richmond, and as a chief creative officer and co-marketing team lead at Blax Seoul. My university education has included being a Fashion Merchandising major with a minor in media studies at VCU and spending a summer studying at Korea University in South Korea. I have gained supplementary knowledge and experience in event planning, promotions, social media, and marketing through on-campus events and activities.
