My two purple Grand Champion ribbons hail from the same place: the Boone County Fair. One for showmanship in the 2006 junior goat show. The other for my historical fiction short story. A decade later, I put those two loves of my life together to become an agriculture communicator, creating and elevating stories from people in the agriculture industry and others around the world. I believe that stories drive change from the local to international level. I am a values-driven and task-oriented leader interested in strategic communications, leadership, international agriculture, and international rural development policy. After years of international experience including a study abroad semester, a Syrian refugee nonprofit internship while living in Italy, and being a Board of Directors member for a Ugandan non-profit, I seek opportunities to share stories and spark global change starting with the local community.
