Cabiner is a company offering off-grid experiences in the Dutch wild. They encourage people to seek domestic holiday destinations and reduce their ecological footprint. The Cabins, which function as hotel rooms, are entirely self-sustaining and offer just the amount of luxury you want.Together with the founders of Cabiner, I seek operational improvements and put these into practice. These are predominantly related to the hospitality side of the organisation. Whilst developing these improvements, the main aim is to positively affect both the guest journey as the daily operations of Cabiner.

The Michelberger is for me the place to find the right people. After moving to Berlin, I was hoping to find a place like this, filled with cultures and creative minds. During my time here, my German knowledge has increased exponentially.At the hotel, I had the responsibilities of the front desk and duty manager tasks, mainly outside of office hours. As well as occasionally jumping in on different projects or departments, as the Michelberger Farm and representativeness on the Berlin Travel Festival.

My work here has at all times been part-time, next to my Bachelor's studies. In addition to the daily operations, I have been busy with creating SOPs, training new staff members, developing and implementing recycling opportunities, and performing aspirant supervisory tasks.Furthermore, I have always been looking out for new ways to improve the daily operations and have been helping out in different departments, when and where needed.

My work at InterContinental Sydney was my first experience in the hotel Front Office. During the 6 months of my internship here, I became experienced in all standard front office, concierge, and guest relations related tasks, as well as working with Micros Opera. I got the most out of my internship by taking every opportunity to experience different departments and performing several months of night audit shifts. The culturally very diverse team that I worked with, has always made me feel very included and made me discover my passion and interest in intercultural competence.After my internship, I returned to Amsterdam to continue my studies. Because of my positive experience with IHG at InterContinental Sydney, I chose to continue working for IHG after my return.
