Anna Mele is a 22 year old student at Dean College who is on the B.A track as a dance major, and business minor. She has been training in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop for 14 years now. She has trained with Louise School of Dance, Elite Feet Dance Studio, Mercersburg Academy dance program and Dean College. She has also been to dance festivals and intensives such as Bates Dance Festival, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, National and Regional High school dance festivals and NYC Big Apple Tap Festival. Anna has found a love of teaching and choreographing dance. She has choreographed pieces ranging in solos, small groups and large groups varying in genres performed by the Mercersburg Dance program and Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance. Along with choreographing, Anna has a passion for performing where she can use her dancing to inspire audience members. She specifically enjoys modern and jazz performing which is what she hopes to continue in years after graduation. Some future career goals include performing within a company or show, possibly opening up a studio of her own and choreographing. Anna would love to incorporate her business minor within her dance degree as well through a director position at either a collegiate or high school dance program. Anna has a passion like no other and will put one hundred and ten percent into everything she does to ensure her goals are met. She hopes to perfect her technique, prepare for auditions, choreograph and perform during her 4 years at Dean to prepare her for the future ahead. Along with an extensive dance background, Anna also has leadership skills ultimately setting her apart from her peers. She is currently a Peer Tutor for the Rhythmic Analysis class at Dean College, Co- President of Dean College Pom Team and she is a New Student Orientation Leader as well. With the motivation, confidence, courage and enthusiasm, Anna has the experience to lead others.
