Full Professor of Design. Service and Strategic Design. PhD in Design.Deputy Dean of the School of Design - Politecnico di MilanoFormer head of the Master Program of Product Service System Design of the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano.Co-founder of the Polimi DESIS Lab.International coordinator of the DESIS (Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability) Network Association from 2013 to 2016.Coordinator of the POLIMI-DESIS Lab of the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano from 2013 to 2019. Head of the Master of Science in Product Service System Design of Politecnico di Milano from 2016 to 2021.My areas of investigation are Service Design and Strategic Design towards sustainability, with a specific emphasis on design activism for social innovation and place development. Specific fields of research are the food system, the collaborative housing system and the related issues. I developed the concepts of Creative Communities and Community Centred Design through a number of ongoing basic and applied research projects.Since 2001, I have been involved as investigator or principal investigator in a number of research projects, such us: ONFOODS ( Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2022-25), La Scuola dei Quartieri (PON METRO - 2018-23), CIMULACT (H2020, 2015-2018), TRANSITION (EC, FP 7, 2013 - 2016), SPREAD (EC, FP7-SSH, 2011-12), Nutrire Milano – Feeding Milano (IT, Cariplo Foundation, 2009-2013), Human Cities (EC, Culture, 2008-12), City Scout (IT, CAMCOM, 2012), EMUDE (EC, FP6-MNP, 2004-2007), “The agricultural park” (IT, MIUR-PRIN, 2005-2007), HiCS (EC, FP4-Growth, 2001-2004).In 2015 I have been in charge of the organization of the conference Cumulus Milano - The Virtuous Circle as a chair scientific of the scientific committee, and in 2018 chair of the organization of the Conference ServDes.2018 Proof of Concept.
