In my role as an HR Advisor, I supported and advised managers in all areas of employee relations and operational HR issues - disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, sickness absence, performance etc. - requiring in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of employment law and Trust policies. I widened my experience of strategic HR by undertaking and leading on projects for the HR Business Partners related to organisational development and service redesign, including TUPE.

As an HR Management Trainee on the NHS Graduate Scheme I have undertaken a number of placements in an Acute Trust, a Community Healthcare Trust and a flexi-placement at the accountancy firm, Grant Thornton. The scheme is incredibly competitive with 15,000 applicants applying for under 150 jobs and I feel very privileged to have my place on the scheme. As part of the NHS Graduate Scheme I undertook a 'flexi-placement' with Grant Thornton as an HR Officer in their People and Skills Department. I lead a project around culture alignment between two offices that had recently merged. This involved research of current thinking and practice about culture alignment, designing and distributing a survey, analysing the results and producing a report for the Partners with my findings and recommendations for next steps.
