Hello! My name is Anna Moen. I am an English and history graduate from St. Olaf College. Studying English and history for four years allowed me to constantly strengthen my ability to use text to communicate concisely and effectively. Since much of my work as as student consisted of reading and writing, I also have a keen eye for grammar and spelling. Besides studying English and history, I was involved in many collegiate organizations. I worked as a fellow for the Great Conversation Department of St. Olaf, I was the Opinions Editor of our school’s newspaper, I volunteered as a mentor for the TRIO Mentor Program, and I was the Web Content Manager and an Events Planner for our student government organization, the After Dark Committee (ADC). In these diverse positions, I learned technical skills such as formatting with Adobe’s InDesign program, editing for proper Associated Press (AP) style, and managing web pages. I also learned more general skills such as communicating quickly and effectively and organizing and planning events for large audiences in dynamic and fast-paced environments. As someone who prides herself on adapting well to change and looking forward to exciting and adventurous opportunities, I also studied abroad twice while in college. I attended the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand and spent a month in London, Paris, Florence, and Rome with a program from St. Olaf. Throughout the positions I held in college and the positions I held away from college as a childcare assistant and barista, I have learned that in every position I take on I am extremely detail-oriented, quick-learning (and quick-thinking), hard working, organized, and, above all else, enthusiastic. These traits alone would make me a great asset to any team, and I have experience to back me up as well.
