Employment Specialist
CurrentMy current employment in the non-profit rehabilitation sector has taught me about the Human Service Profession. I have sought out and embraced opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. I have been responsible for the successful organization and implementation of a new, grant-funded program through the State of Michigan in teaching Soft Skills to adults with disabilities. I was responsible for the creative development of the Soft Skills training curriculum based on specific stipulations in the state grant. This unique curriculum allows me to conduct two-week training workshops for clients referred to the program energetically and enthusiastically. Upon the completion of training workshops, assessment, feedback and recommendations are provided to Michigan Rehabilitation Services case workers to better ensure the success of their clients. My skills have been continuously challenged and enhanced. The vast range of diversity that my clients bring to my daily routine has taught me a great deal about striving to meet the needs of individuals. Working with state and local agencies on a variety of programs has provided me with a very unique perspective that I feel confident could be utilized across many professional arenas.
