Life Sciences Division: As a process engineering co-op, I assisted the engineering team with process improvement projects. For one such improvement project regarding a key product line, I collected and analyzed batch record data, observed processes for product yield loss analysis, performed assays for protein quantification, tested and implemented new equipment to improve process, communicated with vendors to purchase new equipment and updated protocols with process/equipment changes. For another product, I standardized the filling process by implementing a peristaltic pump. To do this, I performed accuracy studies to prove pump consistency, conducted time studies to ensure improved process efficiency, and drafted and managed change control and planned process validation testing. I also managed 5S LEAN processes for plant and assisted label printing improvements.

Worked closely with professors in the Biology department to assist with research projects: maintenance, care and testing for lab-scale anaerobic digesters for substrate optimization along with challenge testing on hydration stations for Flint Community Schools.

Hosted for a month before being promoted to a waitress. Responsible for taking food orders from customers, serving tables, and managing money transactions. Responsible for cleaning and closing restaurant. Trained two new employees.
