I conducted a gait analysis on each customer I fit by looking at their walking and running mechanics to determine what kind of shoe they needed to support them best. Additionally, I not only educated customers on the shoes that I fit them for, but on the variety of rehab products, insoles, socks, apparel items, running gear, and nutrition products that we offered. I also answered any customer questions, and provided them with educated recommendations for products based on their needs and interests. -

Assistant Track And Field CoachZionsville Middle School Feb 2022 - May 2022As an Assistant Track Coach at Zionsville Middle School, I primarily worked with the sprinters, but assisted in coaching other events as well. I worked with both the boys' and girls' teams and coached student-athletes in running skill development and sprinting technique. To teach these techniques, I utilized learning cues to aid in athletes' skill understanding, retention, and development. My athlete-centered approach to coaching empowered athletes to develop confidence, leadership, and sportsmanship—three critical characteristics that are foundational to youth sports. Additionally, I was occasionally tasked with creating at-home practice plans for the sprinters when weather did not allow us to hold practice. This often required me to create these plans with a quick turnaround deadline as weather can be unpredictable. During all meets, I collected data on athletes' performances and entered it into spreadsheets to track student-athlete progress and set goals. This included split times, overall times, and placements to assist the coaches in determining our team's placement throughout each meet. Almost every athlete PR'd throughout the season, and I saw large improvements in athletes' confidence in themselves and their performances by the end of the season.

Butler University Athletic Training InternButler University Jan 2022 - Apr 2022Indianapolis, In, UsAs an athletic training intern, I observed and assisted Butler's athletic trainers in providing care to student-athletes through injury treatment and rehabilitation. Additionally, I helped maintain the cleanliness and organization of the training room in order to ensure efficient and high-quality student-athlete care. I worked primarily with the women's lacrosse team, but I assisted in the care of athletes in all sports, including track, cross country, volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, swimming, golf, cheerleading, and tennis. While what I was allowed to assist with in treatments was limited due to not being a certified athletic trainer yet, the athletic trainers entrusted me with leading student-athletes in a few anterior cruciate ligament rehabilitation exercises, as well as several foot and ankle rehabilitation exercises. As part of my internship, I conducted a case study and presented on one of our athlete's rehabilitation process from tarsal tunnel syndrome surgery. I took range of motion, mobility, and pain measurements, and tracked all throughout the athlete's recovery process. At the conclusion of my case study, I compiled all of the data into graphs and drew conclusions about potential causes of fluctuations in the data. Throughout my internship, I also researched topics relevant to injuries observed in the training room by reading scientific journals and having discussions with the athletic trainers about my findings. -
Strength And Conditioning CoachShortridge High School Sep 2020 - Nov 2020As part of a course entitled "Supervised Field Experience for Coaches" for my major at Butler, our class served as strength coaches for student-athletes at Shortridge High School once a week for a semester. My responsibility as a strength coach was to facilitate student-athlete creation of workout plans, integrate leadership lessons into each session, and to teach student-athletes how to properly perform particular skills and exercises. The nature of the program was a progression from being professor-led, to student-led by the Butler students, to fully led by the Shortridge High School student-athletes. I assisted in facilitating this progression by inspiring confidence and empowering student-athletes to become effective leaders that would run the program autonomously. To accomplish this, I taught them leadership skills such as respect, advocacy, and understanding individuals' roles on a team. During each session, I helped lead dynamic warm-ups and exercises, utilizing learning cues to aid in student-athletes' understanding of particular skills. Additionally, I used an athlete-centered approach to coaching the athletes by assisting with goal-setting, providing encouragement, and offering feedback. As my coaching philosophy is athlete-centered, my ultimate goal was to help the athletes become not only better athletes, but most importantly, better people who would be equipped with skills that would translate to other areas of their lives.

5Th & 6Th Grade Track CoachIps #60/Butler Lab School Mar 2020 - Mar 2020I unfortunately did not get to coach for very long due to COVID-19, but I throughly enjoyed the short time I spent there with the kids. In the short time I coached at IPS #60, I created a developmentally appropriate practice plan for the first day of practice, taught the student-athletes the importance of stretching and proper execution of major stretches, and led the student-athletes through a series of skill-development games and exercises. I also taught the student-athletes the importance of proper hydration and nutrition, and how to pace themselves during a longer run or race.
