I am currently a postgraduate research student in the Professor Jon Strefford group at the University of Southampton, graduating end of 2024. Throughout my BSc and MRes degrees, I was trained as a lab scientist. However, I became interested in bioinformatics and hence have been training as a computational biologist during my PhD. I was fortunate to be able to gain experience in generating whole-genome methylation data (including sequence data) using Oxford Nanopore Technologies and biomodal's recently published technology, five-letter seq. I am therefore proficient in library prep and data analysis (including on HPCs) particularly DNA methylation analysis, using R, bash and sometimes Python.As I have also analysed clinical trial data, I am familiar with various statistical analyses and survival analyses.
