I am a recent graduate at Colorado State University with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a second degree in Spanish. Through my coursework, I have developed a broad proficiency in biological and chemical processes and laboratory techniques, with a particular interest in genetics. I plan to pursue a graduate program to build upon my knowledge of the structure and function of genes in relation to plants and ecosystems. My professional aspirations are to lead a team dedicated to researching methods to preserve genetic diversity and address biodiversity loss. Currently, I'm serving as a Rural Climate Fellow as part of GrizzlyCorps, an AmeriCorps program. I hope to make significant contributions in creating a more sustainable future for this planet and generations to come.I am especially passionate about sustainability and international, multicultural collaboration. I believe this is the key to solving environmental issues that transcend borders. I also plan to focus on outreach and education throughout my career to encourage more involvement in science and environmental issues, and I would like to be involved in science policy and connecting scientists to government leaders and the public.
