I joined the team to help open the new location of the business, and immediately set to work helping implement systems, train employees, and get cafe operations running. I utilized creative problem solving, dynamic teamwork, and general cafe operations to ensure the cafe's success. Within the first year the cafe has started a natural wine program, had unprecedented sales, retained an extroidinary staff, and become a fixture of the community we serve.

In this role I managed all daily cafe operations, including overseeing ordering and maintaining relationships with over 10 local vendors as well as weekly inventory checks of front of house supplies. I supervise and support staff of 6, provide weekly updates on staff performance and cafe operations to GM, and train new hires on cafe operations. I also perform barista and bartender tasks during scheduled shifts, such as preparing drinks, providing an outstanding customer experience, operating point of sale, stocking products, and cleaning the bar.

I was a full time volunteer through Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest in Portland. In this role I served at William Temple House in the Social Services department.The services provided by William Temple House include a food pantry, children’s clothing closet, vision and dental programs, utility assistance programs, and more. My duties primarily focused on direct service with the clients, assisting them with getting food to utilizing the other various services provided by William Temple House, as well as referring them to other organizations. I coordinated volunteers in the food pantry, picked up donations, as well as other tasks as needed.

In this position, I maintained the public face of the city of New Ulm through social media postings and updates. I promoted events, wrote press-releases, created graphic designs, shared content related to the city, analyzed insights for social media posts to garner the most interactions, and more. I also worked with a local group to plan and execute a weekend of events to promote New Ulm's small businesses called "Crazy Days." For the event, I created all of the graphics and social media content, wrote the event press release, and worked with the event committee to execute the various events happening throughout the weekend.

Through my tenure working with the Institute for Women's Leadership, I planned and executed events aimed at educating students on social issues, empowering students to fully embrace their identities, and providing students opportunities to participate in community-based service work.I spearheaded a monthly event series titled "____ is a Feminist Issue." This series consisted of panels, presentations, and discussions about the intersections of issues such as sustainability, religion, healthcare, and politics and feminism.
