Present: My current role is Head of Breaking The Cycle (BtC) Family Services. Breaking the Cycle comprises of a family-centred approach to support parents and carers to address substance misuse, to be aware of the impact of problematic use on their family and to prioritise the safety and developmental needs of their children. This is achieved by delivering substance misuse treatment and family focussed interventions to parents and children on a one-to-one basis and in family and/or group settings. Broadly my role is to support the implementation, delivery and development of family services across the organisation, ensuring that service delivery adheres to operational standards and Addaction's clinical governance guidelines.Past: I have worked for Addaction in a variety of roles for approximately 14 years, including a young person’s substance misuse practitioner, a sexual exploitation worker, team leader and services manager for several young person and family services. Prior to working for Addaction I managed an education service for young people who had been excluded from pupil referral units. My career began as a youth worker, working with a wide range of young people and running youth centres for around 10 years.
