Passionate about early intervention in both health promotion and emotional well-being. Working as a Lead Mental Health Practitioner in a secondary school aimed at adopting a ‘Whole School Approach” to mental health. My strategy includes drop in sessions for students, 1:1 targeted work and group work sessions on topics such as self esteem and self harm. Staff will also be provided with advice and guidance as well as teaching sessions to help them better understand the needs of our young people. Supervisions and debriefs will be implemented for staff to ensure they have adequate support for their role and give them access to services for their own emotional well-being. I am a qualified Mental Health Nurse and have completed postgraduate training to become a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.I previously worked on an adolescent psychiatric intensive care unit and more recently as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) delivering public health services to children aged 8 to 19 years old.
