I am a second-year graduate student at Ball State University studying Speech-Language Pathology. I am currently completing my off-campus externship at Wes-Del Elementary and will begin my medical externship at the Heuser Hearing Institute in Louisville, KY in April. I will graduate with my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology in July of 2024. After completing my Master's degree, I hope to work as a consultant for an AAC company, especially with the geriatric population, or with adults who have neurodegenerative diseases. Before working as a consultant, I want to gain experience working in a skilled nursing facility working with this population.I previously have experience working as a summer intern in the technology department of a school system, serving across four campuses. This experience initiated my interest in working with technology. This interest was further developed during a class in augmentative communication where we had the opportunity to learn about varying devices on the market from multiple AAC consultants as well as gain an understanding of their jobs.During my time as a student at Ball State, I have gained over 160 hours of clinical experience working with clients across the lifespan. I have had the opportunity to develop skills as a student clinician in my areas of interest by observing and completing videostroboscopies, completing swallowing therapy with a BP client, and providing voice therapy with a geriatric client. I have seen a variety of clients, but these experiences have been the most notable and impactful.
