I was selected to act as a vice representative to the Intercultural Teacher Education (ITE) programme committee at the University of Oulu. I support the representative in bringing up relevant issues related to education design and student life in dialogue with the wider student body, teachers and academic affairs. It partners with the Education and Globalization Masters programme to discuss and take action on relevant issues in the faculty.

I worked as the Project Coordinator for the Envirocen project CitizANTS. My main responsibilities included the development and organization of events and seminars, the educational content of workshops, and collaborating with the team on the final report and publication . I was also responsible for communication and logistics with local and international invited experts and participants.The Envirocen project aims to promote the use of citizen science, an emergent trans-disciplinary approach, in the University of Oulu community and beyond. CitizANTS creates awareness of the potential of citizen science to enrich interdisciplinary collaboration and engage academic and non-academic community members in more meaningful and widely relevant research.

I arrange seminars and speak on various topics including Education for Sustainable Development, Finnish early childhood and basic education, SEN provision in Finland, inclusion in multicultural educational environments, forest school, and student-centred learning. I am passionate about organizing educational events. I believe in the power of continued professional and personal development by learning with and through others. I act as a liaison between local Finnish schools, museums, and educational businesses arrange topic related school visits for international educators (ex: Erasmus + projects).I am an intercultural educator and learner with a passion for wellbeing in education and learning in multicultural/ multilinguistic environments. I hold a degree in International Studies (US), have done master studies in Social anthropology (Turkey), and hold an Early Childhood Educator qualification (UK). I have worked in various education training and teaching positions since 2010, including kindergarten teacher, forest school instructor, supervisor, and pedagogical trainer in Finland. I was previously a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to Turkey. I am currently a candidate in the Intercultural Teacher Education program at the University of Oulu. I recently organized a workshop for University of Oulu’s Burning Questions on special educational needs (SEN) provision during Covid-19 and distance education.

I was honored to be selected as an 2023 Earth Prize Mentor. As a university student passionate about sustainability and entrepreneurship I was tasked with answering The Earth Prize Participants’ questions on The Earth Prize online platform and providing advice and support on Participants’ submissions. I met with finalist teams and gave detailed feedback and support in the final stages of the Earth prize.

As part of my master level studies in intercultural education and sustainability, I worked with the Eco-Schools international division, one of the five sustainability programs under the Foundation for Environmental Education. I worked together with a highly professional and diverse team to create resources for #Globalactiondays, and lesson plans for teachers, did outreach to local schools including filming sustainability-focused lessons and coordinated visits for the team to a local nature school.It is a private non-profit organization and that administers the green flag award program for international schools.

As the Educational Operative Lead I was responsible for planning the pedagogical content, accreditation, and logistics of entrepreneurship society events.The OULU ENTREPRENEURSHIP SOCIETYaims to promote entrepreneurial mindset, community and culture in Oulu. We encourage, educate and connect individuals through entrepreneurship. We want to help individuals to develop themselves, take ideas from dreams into creation and to build and expand their networks. Being an entrepreneur is so much more than owning and running a business and OuluES strives to help our members uncover and navigate their path towards entrepreneurship. I am responsible for the education and care of children ages 5-6. This includes short and long term planning, parent and school communication, education reports, and individual education plans. In addition, I am responsible for the liaising and communication with parents and other professionals within and outside of the company. I employ working guidelines for the education and development of children in our setting using the UK EYFS and Key stage 1 and Key stage 2 as well as the Finnish National core Curriculum for early childhood education. I am responsible for the supervision of the 'schoolroom team'.

I love working with all ages, but I specialize in working with children learning and improving their communication, writing, and reading skills in English.Over the last seven years I have taken on a variety of students for private one-on-one tutoring in the areas of:+language: English, Turkish, basic Spanish+Literacy+Mathematics+Social studiesI have worked with children, preschool to primary aged, in literacy and middle to high school aged children in subject areas.
