Host and bartender in corporate suites at the MCG

Travelled to different neighbourhoods around the UK going door-to-door with the goal of getting as many people as possible to become regular donators to charity. Involved knocking over 100 doors every day. Worked to daily targets and met weekly quotas for sign ups. Whilst working in this role a positive mind set was essential and I really developed my ability to build relationships with customers. During my time here I learnt a lot about persuasion and sales techniques in a company that raised over £7million for the charity through its door to door efforts.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Explore Learning. Here I have worked with individual students and in groups of up to 6, tutoring them in maths and English. Children attending these session were between the ages of 4 and 16, for each child it was necessary to assess individual learning styles and educational ability in order to effectively help children to build their academic skills.

During lockdown, this used to be Cafe transformed into an essential shop where we provided treats and essentials to the local area. Whilst employed here I helped facilitate this change and was fortunate enough to gain insight into the business processes involved. Responsibilities while working here included ordering and management of deliveries, setting up epos now system, organising accounts, merchandising the shop floor, playing a hand in social media marketing, inventory, implementing Covid rules in store, creating and following a cleaning schedule, providing excellent customer service.

Administration is essential to the smooth running of any business. My first role as a receptionist has built respect and appreciation for the fundamentals of this role and instilled the importance of organisation, communication skills, multitasking and prioritising.
