I am a lawyer and human rights advocate. In 2015, I founded Nasiliu.net (No To Violence), Russia's leading organization dedicated to supporting people affected by violence. It all started when I couldn’t stand by as journalist Anna Zhavnerovich was brutally beaten by her male partner. Neither the police nor the state helped her; instead, they chose to protect him. Since then, domestic violence in Russia has become a widely discussed issue. My organization has helped thousands of women receive psychological and legal support, find refuge in shelters, and ultimately escape their abusers.I now live in Portugal and continue to support women in Russia and in emigration under the name of the Rivina Foundation. Today, my projects are the Rivina Foundation, the Nasiliu.net Center in Moscow and the Labyrinth platform for women in emigration.Nasiliu.net (No To Violence) is a unique project. It is the only place in Moscow where people can receive comprehensive help without bureaucratic hurdles and, for the first time in their lives, hear that they are not to blame for what happened to them. We are the only organization in Moscow that works with perpetrators—aggressors who have decided to renounce violence, change their lives, and eliminate violence within themselves. Our informational and educational projects have reached hundreds of thousands of people. We've engaged dozens of bloggers, actors, and influencers to raise awareness of the issue of violence. In 2023, we expanded our services across Russia, offering online consultations. In 2024, we extended our support to Russian-speaking individuals worldwide, regardless of citizenship, nationality, or location. Both Nasiliu.net (No To Violence) and I have been labeled “foreign agents” by the Russian governmentI became the first woman from Russia to be featured on the cover of Time Magazine.I was a Forbes 30 Under 30 laureate in 2020.In 2019, I was named an ambassador for Levi’s “I Shape My World” campaign.
